Mimo Pantomime Theatre was established in 2002.
Set up by Bartłomiej Ostapczuk as a one-actor theatre, it was quickly transformed into a company.
The Mimo Theatre’s actors’ artistic searches resulted in devising their own drama speak, where they intend to combine the most important elements of the art of the key modern pantomime creators and reformers.
In their theatrical work, they strive to express the essence of feelings and emotions through movements and gestures, throwing in a bit of absurd. While conforming to the principles of mime art, they want the only boundaries to be the boundaries of their imagination.

Since 2002, the theatre has presented 10 new performances. The main shows were stage productions. Since 2010, the theatre has been producing open-air performances, thus expressing its belief that mime art can exist also in spaces which are different from the theatre stage. The Mimo Theatre’s performances feature permanently in the repertoire of the Królewski Theatre in Wilanów as well as this of the Na Woli Theatre. They are also presented at theatre festivals at home and abroad. The actors of the Mimo Pantomime Theatre also have links with the all-year-round Pantomime Studio at the Na Woli Theatre in Warsaw, where they hone their skills while learning the art of contemporary pantomime. They also do guest performances on the stages of drama and opera theatres of Warsaw.
The Mimo Pantomime Theatre is part of the Warsaw Pantomime Centre which supports the development of this art in our country.
